CH Wolfhouse Pavane (left), World Winner Veteran at age 9 yrs in Denmark 2010.
Pavane's brother INT CH Wolfhouse Pergolesi was Junior World winner in Amsterdam and Pavane´s mother Multi CH Wolfhouse Knock Out became World Winner in Dortmund at age 7-1/2 yrs.
CH Wolfhouse Pavane (right), BOB veteran at the 2010 EIWC show where she placed as 4th. Best bitch of all class winners (including Champions).
Wolfhouse Unsung Melody, owned by Birgitta Stolpe, finished his championship with a four point major.
NOR CH Swed CH Wolfhouse Umbrielle — top winning Irish Wolfhound bitch in Norway 2007 and 2008 — has now completed her International Championship and was Best of Oposite on Sept. 19th at the Copenhagen double show, with an entry of 7000 dogs. On September 20th, Umbrielle won the Copenhagen Winners title and won Best of Breed. She is owned by Knut Olav Wille, O´Marksbay kennel in Norway
The litter that became a "lit".
This is Namu on her due-date — pretty sporty looking for a pregnant bitch — and just a few hours later presenting a “lit” consisting of one brindle bitch puppy of 700 gr.
DEN CH Kellyhide Bernadette is in whelp with INT MULTI CH Melodream Maker O´Marksbay. Puppies are expected around September 20th. Both parents have just been heart tested, and both passed with flying colors.
Wolfhouse The Blue Note won Best of Breed at the Danish National Specialty, May 3009, under Judge Dr. Frédéric Maison, France.
I have been saving Umberto, not wanting to show him because he has been nothing but arms and legs for the longest time. I brought him out a bit earlier than planned because Toscanini had finished his title very fast and I had no male to show in open class. I brought Umberto out not expecting anything, because to me he was just a baby, but in a matter of just three shows he completed his title, before I realized what had happened.
On September 29th. DEN CH Wolfhouse Ornette Coleman (Coffee) turned 8 years old. He is out of a litter of 12 puppies, 8 of which are still alive and well.
Sadly, we lost INT DEN SWE NOR NORD CH Wolfhouse Melody Maker in September to an acute infection; he was doing great in the morning, was a little quiet by afternoon and died at midnight. He was 9 years and 7 months old. The void is great. He was one of the great characters.
In September we also lost DEN
CH Wolfhouse Quartal Harmony to osteosarcoma
at the age of only 5 years and 8 months. She was never bred from. Blood
and tissue samples have been donated to the Swedish osteosarcoma research
project. Somehow it gives us a feeling that her premature death is not
completely in vain. We strongly recommend that you consider this,
should you be so unfortunate as to have a hound diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

INT DEN NOR IW Clb CH Knallåsen's Hortensia, celebrated her 8th birthday on Aug 15. Pictured winning the Danish National Specialty 2 weeks earlier.
After more than a two year break, and as a result of careful planning, we have decided to mate our DEN CH Wolfhouse Urban Symphony to the handsome Melody Maker son, Multi CH Melodream Maker O´Marksbay. These two dogs have very good longevity in their pedigrees, which is of major importance to us. We sincerely hope that the mating “bears fruit”, in which case the litter will be expected around the 25th of September.
Wolfhouse The Blue Note, (age 2 yrs) out to her very first show, where she performed beautifully and won the international ticket (the CACIB). Wolfhouse Umberto was shown for the first time in over a year. At the age of 2 years he is slowly beginning to show the early signs of adulthood. He nevertheless managed to get his first CC, his first CACIB and to finish it off in style, he won Best of Breed.
On July 29, 2008, DEN CH Wolfhouse Notes for Blues celebrated her 8th birthday.
At the World Show in Stockholm, Wolfhouse Umbrielle (below left), owned by Knut Olav Wille, won Open Class Bitches and the Bitch CC over 56 entries, under judge Jörgen Rössner, Germany. DEN CH Wolfhouse Toscanini (below right) won Open Class Males over 23 entries under Judge Göran Bodegård, Sweden.
On her second birthday, Wolfhouse Urban Symphony completed her Danish Championship under judge Dr. Lynn Simon. Wolfhouse Toscanini also completed his Danish Championship at the specialty. And, showing once again that sneiority rules, INT DEN NOR IW Clb CH Knallåsen's Hortensia took Best of Breed, right before her 8th birthday.
Wolfhouse Umberto (right) has sired his first litter of five boys and one girl with Edita Dobrovolná.
On the 16th of March Wolfhouse Urban Symphony (Eco) took BOS and the bitch CC under judge Cyntia Armaretti from Italy. The following week, on the 22nd of March, she went BOB and got her second CC under judge Janiki Steinbruch from Israel.
Kellyhide Bernadette is the newest Champion at Wolfhouse. Namu completed her Danish Championship in February.
Dorisas Fionnoula joins us at Wolfhouse. We are extremely grateful to Ann-Sophie and Lennart Falk for letting us have this beautiful puppy join the Wolfhouse family. Fionnoula is from a frozen semen litter consisting of no less than 12 live and healthy puppies. Her sire is USA CH Fleetwind Gordon and her dam is Dorisa’s Elois. Fionnoula’s pedigree consists of extremely long-lived lines, something which we consistently try to select for in our breeding programme.
Melody Maker celebrating 9 years on January 31st. He has been receiving packages containing his passion – squeaky toys – in the mail from all his friends around the World. Here he is seen attentively waiting by the gate as the mailman arrives.
Catch the Turtle – befitting for a 9 year old gentleman who is still full of life.
Top IW Bitch in Denmark in 2007 is DEN NOR IWCLB CH Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue. Reserve annual winner is her mother INT DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia, who did all her winning out of senior class, and finished as top senior 2007.
August , 2007

Viking virgins, warriors, witches and Wolfhounds
CH Wolfhouse Pavane and INTCH Knallåsens Hortensia are participating in the annual Viking play in June and July 2007. The two dogs have taken to acting like fish to water. Unfortunately they have also gained a few pounds from all the tidbits and leftovers on the ground around the tables in the Viking village behind the stage. Vikings were sloppy eaters and Wolfhounds make great scavengers.
At just 11 months old, Wolfhouse Umbrielle won reserve best bitch (winners bitch) at the 2007 Norwegan Specialty, under breeder judge Els Swelheim. There was an entry of about 65 wolfhounds, of which only 19 were males. Umbrielle is sired by USA CH Fleetwind Dan and out of DEN NOR CH Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue, and is owned by Knut Olav Wille, kennel O´Marksbay.
In Salzburg, Mary McBryde judged the 2007 specialty with an entry of about 75 IWs. CH Wolfhouse Scarlatti's young son, Tullaghan's Delwyn, won BOB. BOS was won by World Winner CH Dunhill's Tara, sired by CAN CH Wolfhouse Mythical.
New record in Denmark:
9½ year old DEN IWCLB CH Ebony Saragh of Nutstown has consistently beaten a long string of Wolfhounds and has ended the show season as TOP WINNING Irish Wolfhound 2006 and Top Senior. She has also finished her IWCLB CH in 2006. Saragh is not just another nice veteran, she is an ambassador for our cause of breeding for health, vigor, athleticism, and longevity. We congratulate her breeders John and Kathleen Kelly and Cecilia O´Driscoll.
Finally, with the newly instated annual competitions in the Irish Wolfhound Club of Denmark, we have completed the year 2006 with these achievements:
- Breeder of the year
- Top brood bitch: WW03 INT POL DEN SWE NOR NORD IWCLB CH Wolfhouse Knock Out

November 26: Wolfhouse Schubert (left), entered in his first show, received his first CC.
November 16th: DEN CH Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue completed her Norwegan Championship.
Wolfhouse Polynesia (center) has completed both her Swedish and Danish Championships.
Wolfhouse Offenbach (right) has returned to the show ring after a 3½ year break which had nothing to do with him. The first time out, he completed his Danish Championship.
The year 2006 has been a very successful year for Wolfhouse -- 10 dogs have obtained the following 12 championship titles (see the Champions Gallery for photos):
- Wolfhouse Scarlatti (male) - Danish Champion
- Wolfhouse Sinfonia (bitch) - Danish Champion
- Wolfhouse Rigoletto (male) - Danish Champion
- Wolfhouse Quartet (bitch) - Danish Champion & Swedish Champion (and 2006 annual IW breed winner in the Danish Kennel Club competition)
- Wolfhouse Quarter Note (male) - Finnish Champion

Two New Champions
Wolfhouse Rigoletto is a new Danish Champion and won BOB and Group 2nd at the Copenhagen International show on July 27, 2006. Wolfhouse Quarter Note also completed his Finnish Championship in July.
Vingsted Show Results
DEN CH Wolfhouse Scarlatti finished his Danish Championship at his first show after his second birthday. DEN CH Ebony Saragh of Nutstown celebrated her 9th birthday by placing as 2nd best bitch to DEN CH CPH-Winner-2004 Wolfhouse Pavane and BIS Senior. INT multi CH Wolfhouse Pergolesi took the breed and his litter sister DEN CH CPH-Winner-2004 Wolfhouse Pavane went best of opposite under judge Lyhn Lee, from Australia.
U Litter Born
The Wolfhouse U-litter, our modern miracle, is now a reality. On June 29th seven puppies were born from USA CH Fleetwind Dan out of DEN CH NORDJW-04 Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue. All the puppies are thriving. Here one of the boys is trying to get comfortable on top of the waterbowl in the hot summer. None of the puppies are for sale.
After two years we can finally announce the birth of a litter at Wolfhouse on May 5th. The litter is out of INT DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia by Wolfhouse Scarlatti (2 CCs). The Litter consists of 3 boys and 5 girls in the colors black, red brindle and wheaten. All pups are spoken for.
Little Modern Miracles
We have just learned that our DEN CH NORDJW-04 Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue is in whelp with a dog who was born in 1981: USA CH Fleetwind Dan. Dan is the sire, grand-sire and great-grand-sire of a long row of dogs with great health and longevity. We owe Lois Thomasson (Fleetwind) eternal gratitude for her extreme generosity. We are very excited about the expected litter. None of the pups will be available.
Great Senior Moments
At the Danish National Specialty in May, Judged by Gretchen Bernardi, our DEN CH Ebony Saragh of Nutstown won Best of Opposite to Odd Myhre´s Pitlochry´s Xecel. Saragh will be 9 years old in June.
Wolfhouse Sinfonia Starting Her Show Career
Wolfhouse Sinfonia, age 23 months, winning the CC and winners bitch (2nd best bitch) to our DEN CH Ebony Saragh of Nutstown at the Danish National Specialty. Sinfonia beat 17 bitches including 4 specials (Champion bitches).
Now 2 years after our last litter was born, we are finally expecting puppies from our Zoe (DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia) and young Wolfhouse Scarlatti. We had almost given up on Zoe's reproductive abilities; she has been mated and empty three times since she had a pyometra. Many different physiological as well social factors come into play in canine reproduction. Zoe's problem turned out not to be a result of the pyometra, but a social problem. The problem was addressed (see article in the next issue of IWworld) and we expect the arrival of the litter around May 2nd. The sire, Scarlatti, is on his way to completing his championship (needs 1 CC after May 31st) and is developing nicely. He still needs to fill out some more. We expect a lot from this combination.
At a Danish Sighthound Club show on March 26, 2006, INT DEN SWE NOR NORD CH Wolfhouse Melody Maker went Best Of Breed and Best In Show Senior (7-10 year catagory). The judge, Regina Tromp-Pruijn wrote, "7 years old and still a dog of high quality with an impressive outline and lots of substance."
Odense Show Results
DEN CH Ebony Saragh of Nutstown, just a few months short of her 9th birthday, won BOB Senior (7-10 year category) at a Danish Kennel Club show in Odense. DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia won BOB and took a group 4th. She also obtained her final CACIB, completing her International Championship. Hortensia is bred by Helen Wieslander in Sweden. INT DEN SWE NOR NORD CH Wolfhouse Melody Maker has reentered the show ring as a veteran in 2006, and he started the year by winning BOS opposite to Hortensia in Odense.

Bettina Isen, Kellyhide Irish Wolfhounds, most generously patched up the wound of our recent frozen semen failures. She has blessed our house with a beautiful bitch puppy, Kellyhide Bernadette out of DEN NOR CLB CH Allegria of First Avenue by USA CH Fleetwind Cutter. Thank you Bettina!

Thanks to the generosity and graciousness of Daniela Iori & Marcello Poli of Mangialupi Irish Wolfhounds in Italy, we have added a new promising canine member to our family. Her name is Julie Dei Mangialupi. Her mother is INT ITA LUX AUT and Lure Coursing CH Yolande de Foix dei Mangialupi. Her sire is DEN CH Wolfhouse Ornette Coleman.
October 30, 2005
DEN CH Wolfhouse Ornette Coleman now has a promising son in the U.S. -- and this concludes the extent of the credit we can claim for this story. The dam is Knallåsen's Lucretia. Waverine's Astos is bred by Betina and Allan Vandel, Waverine Irish Wolfhounds in Jelling, Denmark. The proud new owner is our web designer, Jeniffer Johnson, Texas. We are looking forward to following his development.

Update, November 12, 2005: Sadly, both bitches seem to have resorbed their litters. I believe that pack dynamics have played a large role in this. A very dominant bitch has now been spayed, and will go on vacation next time a litter is planned. I am of a strong conviction that using frozen semen from vigorous, healthy and long-lived males is the optimal approach to breeding towards better longevity in our dogs. Failures such as these cannot discourage my belief in the "dead-sire" approach. We have more semen stored, and will try again at a later date.
With the understanding that the use of frozen semen is slightly more tricky than live mating, we have taken the chance of inseminating two of our best bitches, in hope of obtaining at least one litter.
DEN NOR CH Knallåsens Hortensia has been inseminated with semen from USA CH Fleetwind Sundance, who lived to the ripe age of 11 years. Both of Sundance's parents lived to the age of 12 years. This implant was performed on September 23rd.
DEN CH Wolfhouse Rhapsody in Blue has been inseminated with frozen semen from USA CH Fleetwind Magnum. This great dog lived a long healthy life until the age of 12 years. Rhapsody in Blue was inseminated on September 30th.

Pedigrees for all Wolfhouse litters have now been added to the website. All litters are listed on an overview page, with photos of dogs from each litter. You can still reach current Wolfhouse dogs' pedigrees from their individual Galleries as well.
February 15, 2005
The very latest news is the launching of this website. Jeniffer Johnson of OffLead Productions has done a wonderful job of designing this website for us. It has been a great experience working with her. Jeniffer will also be in charge of maintaining this site. It has been an enormous task to get everything together and we would like to ask our visitors to give us feedback in the form of possible corrections of the pedigrees, and perhaps even help by submitting missing photos of dogs in the pedigrees. Our goal is to have the pictorial pedigrees as complete as possible. If your dog is already represented in the pedigree, and you would like to see him or her presented by a different photo, please send it to us, along with permission to publish.
News of a slightly more dated nature is that we have had our first successful homebred litter from frozen semen from Oakwoods Kalahari, who lived to the ripe age of 10 years and 2 months. The pups are now 8 1/2 months old and developing beautifully. We have high expectations of them. See pedigrees of Wolfhouse Sinfonia & Wolfhouse Scarlatti.
We are going to be "grandparents": CH Wolfhouse Night at the Opera, pictured in the Wolfhouse Champions Gallery, (a litter sister to Wolfhouse Notes for Blues), owned by Ann-Sophie and Lennart Falk, Dorisas Kennel in Sweden, is in whelp with frozen semen from USA CH Fleetwind Magnum. Puppies are expected around February 18th, 2005. Magnum was born in April 1985, and lived to the ripe age of 12 years, and we are very excited about the expected litter.
